What is "Iyengar Yoga"?
Yogacharya BKS Iyengar of Pune, India developed this style of yoga to make yoga accessible to all so that the benefits of practice could be shared. He practised and taught yoga for almost 80 years, across all five continents and is credited with bringing yoga to the West.
I have been fortunate to attend classes with Abhijata Iyengar, (BKS Iyengar’s Grandaughter) at the British Yoga Convention in 2014 and with Geeta Iyengar, (his daughter) in Pune, India in 2015.
